Annual Season of Giving fulfills Christmas needs of 14 seniors

The Annual Season of Giving is upon us — and it couldn’t have arrived at a more appropriate time.

This holiday season is always special, particularly when we can reach members of the community directly. This year, of course, will be unlike any other we’ve experienced. Due to the pandemic, more families and communities may need extra help this year.

We are proud to announce that this year, PMR Gives Back will sponsor 14 seniors at a local care facility and provide them with items from their holiday wish list and hopefully bring them a little joy too.

In everything we do, our passion remains the same. We care deeply about the people in these communities and want nothing more than their success in all aspects of life.

During these challenging times when people are self-isolating, especially those in their senior years, we want to remind them that they are not alone.

So many seniors are facing the prospect of another holiday without friends and family physically present. And while video technology and smartphones connect many people throughout the course of a day, some seniors might not have the same access or a forum where they can interact with others on a regular basis.

For many seniors, being alone can trigger old traumas or fears of getting sick.

These realities make it necessary for us to come together and bring solutions to the table. Programs by the AARP, for instance, are designed to combat isolation among senior citizens. Hotlines, grocery store deliveries and other services are going a long way in reminding the community that we are truly in this together.

Premier Mortgage leads a number of initiatives, including a scholarship fund, that allows us to connect and share in community success.

As the holiday season approaches, we hope other members of the community can also give back. We encourage them to adopt a family, if possible, this season and provide a lifeline during this difficult time.

Together, we can brighten one another’s holiday season and set an example for the true meaning of Christmas and giving back to others.
