New studies show many Americans believe now is a good time to buy a home

A recently released survey conducted by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) shares a common finding between that of the National Housing Survey (NHS) conducted by Fannie Mae. Specifically, 63 percent of respondents to NAR's fourth quarter Housing Opportunities and Market Experience (HOME) survey and 59 percent of the NHS respondents stated that right now is a great time to buy a home. And nearly three-quarters believe that the time is ripe to sell.

A big factor in this sentiment could be that many of the respondents believe that the U.S. economy is steadily improving. Economists believe that a healthy job market and good economic conditions are what’s changing the minds of Americans.

With mortgage rates dropping so low, the timing could be ideal for those who want to become homeowners, and for those looking to move on to their next home.

If you are one of these people, make sure you are informed when it comes to the next steps. It’s easy to know what home you want to buy, it’s harder knowing how you’re going to pay for it.
